Cyclone Larry was first sighted on the Northern Coast of Queensland, Australia. After a few days it moved inland near Cairns, Townsville and Innisfail.
The Movement of Cyclone Larry
Cyclone Larry formed at sea, and gradually motivated to inland. While it was moving towards land, wind speed of the cyclone increased. So fast that it was enough strength to uproot trees and heavily damage infra-structure. Debris was taken up into the air and smashed down onto the ground, leaving debris everywhere. By 7 AM, on the 20th of March, Cyclone Larry ripped through the Coast of Queensland.

When Cyclone Larry was still situate at sea it was a fast, strong Category 3 cyclone. As it moved further towards inland, wind speed started to increase. As it reached the land, North of Queensland, it increased speed up to a Category 5. But winds still gusts quickly, tearing houses apart and uprooting trees.

Cyclone Larry started as a low pressure system when it was monitored by the Australia Bureau of Meteorology in Brisbane, on 16th of March 2006. On the 19th of March 2006 Cyclone Larry reached its peak speed of approximately 290km/h. The destruction caused a 1.5 billion US dollars in damage.
